She’s been part of the Cult since 2018, back when the flavor lineup was smaller, the jars looked very different, and Noah was just starting to turn his fermentation obsession into a full Cult.
Eight years later, Chocolate Mousse is still here; but the jar you know today has lived a few lives along the way.

Before the flavor chaos, there were a few core flavors building the Cult from the ground up and Chocolate Mousse was one of them.
Its first era started small, literally. In 2018, Coconut Cult introduced its chocolate creation in the single-serving format, even bringing it along to Expo West while the flavor was still finding its place in the lineup.
No elaborate launch strategy. No collab. No limited-edition countdown.
Just chocolate, coconut, and Noah's special blend of cultures.
Tiny Cups, Big Dreams ✨
By 2019, chocolate was ready for a bigger jar. Enter: Coco Cacao Cream.
The flavor moved into a 16 oz jar, but getting there apparently wasn’t exactly effortless. At the time, Noah shared that the chocolate version required its own fermentation process, which made scaling production more complicated than some of the other flavors.
So for a while, Coco Cacao Cream lived the small-batch life, appearing in limited quantities while the team worked out how to make more of it and fast.

Her True Name Came From the Cult
Instead of calling it Coco Cacao Cream, some of its hardcore fans kept comparing the thick, creamy texture to chocolate mousse.
By April 2019, Coconut Cult officially reintroduced the flavor under the name its fans had basically already given it:

The name may have changed, but the idea has always been pretty simple: make delicious Chocolately coconut yogurt.
Today, Chocolate Mousse is made with organic coconut cream, organic coconut nectar, organic cacao, and our custom culture blend. The result is rich, creamy, tangy, and suspiciously dessert-like.
Eight years in, and our devotion is still going strong. 🕯️ 🙌
